My annual Black Hills turkey trip didn't disappoint this past spring. I have had good years and some bad years. This spring was an awesome hunt with getting to my hunting location extremely late in the evening. Setting the blind up in the dark in front of the head lights, and getting in the blind before the sun came up that Saturday morning. The morning was silent for the most part other than the robins and other morning birds singing their songs. 10 minutes into the hunt I let out a couple clucks on the turkey call and this tom made a bee line to my decoys and presented a 11 yard shot. He went about 45 yards and expired. 6 1/2 hour drive and we hunted for 20 minutes. Sometimes that's the way turkey hunting goes. I have learned to enjoy them quick or not. Thanks for watching. It was truly a hunt to remember.
